Dug a pit at 11882 feet on a nne aspect. There are two visible weak layers. On is about 3 inches deep and the other about 8. Both are about .5 inch thick. I presume these are from the two most recent storm cycles. Compression revealed small collapses on load cycles 14 at the second weak layers about 8 inches deep and a small collapse on load cycle 29 near the interface of the snow and ground surface. ECT test did not reveal any propigation.
Skiing in the trees was surprisingly good, this solar aspect seems to be holding powder well. Some areas had a 5+ foot base. As it got later in the day, the snow became very wet and heavy. In areas with higher solar load a crust formed. I started to see roller balls and left the area. I suspect that wet slides are a concern later in the day.
