Toured up Heaven Hill today. Skinned a >30° test slope with W aspect above the Windsor and was able to easily sluff new snow on the underlying crust, so sluffs/soft slabs at the top of the snowpack were our main concern for the day. Dug a pit near the top of Heaven Hill around 12,040', and did not get a result from an ECT. Old snow in the pack (from 15cm depth to dirt at 135cm) was faceted, densifying with depth until 100cm. On steeper NW-N slopes ~35°, we could cause sluff to run and entrain snow with energetic turns.
Additionally, observed small point-release avalanche features and wind-loading on Penitente; most likely from Friday 3/8 and Saturday 3/9.
