Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Yesterday I dug a pit on top of big t to see if the snowpack was gaining any strength. The temperature gradient in the snowpack is much smaller than just a couple weeks ago, and to me it looks like the faceted grains were starting to round. This to me appeared consistent with the forecast that the deeper instabilities aren't present everywhere below treeline.
