Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Went up with a tentative mission to do the southern bowl of lake fork peak if the stability looked good and wind loading on the east facing slope was minimal. We performed ext with no propagation (ECTN) just above the tree line. No cracking or collapsing on the tour or riding. Snow is right side up and very dense. We stopped just shy of the peak due to wind gusts. Riding was dense and difficult up top with 1” wind layer top sheet, rest of the way to the lake was great low angle riding.
