Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Skiing around Raven’s I observed significant collapses and shooting cracks after recent snowfall. This was prior to the last phase of this storm during which more accumulation occurred. Based on several other tours in in the area in the preceding 7-10 days, the snowpack appears to be trending towards increasing instability and still seemed very touchy, with the familiar basal facet monster fully grown and living in the basement.
