Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Northeast 48° aspect of Kachina, 11,300 ft, 32° slope. HS 45-90cm. Didn't see a hard, consolidated slab of cohesive snow. Wind slab ~4cm thick mid snowpack pencil hard, F-4F above this, facets below. Graupel sitting on top of the wind slab mid snowpack. CT hard on 2 tests, CTN on 1 test in the deepest aspect of my pit. Couldn't do an ECT because my probe wouldn't remain in place due to underlying rocks and shallow snow.
Pic is of the graupel layer.

Media

Graupel on top of wind slab.
