We made a small ski tour through the Santa Fe Ski Area avoiding snowmaking areas, sunny slopes, and steep slopes. Snow depth was generally around 12". One location measured around 18" (11,400 ft NW aspect). Temperatures were cool and wind was calm. We targeted shady slopes and did not notice unstable snow, nor significant melting and settlement. Due to a lack of a slab over weak layer and a selection of low angle slopes we had no concern of avalanches. The biggest hazard was hitting objects in shallow snow.
