Beautiful sunny warm day with temperatures getting well above freezing below 11,500'. 10 to 15 mph sw winds were keeping warming at higher elevations at bay.
Went up No Name peak and found good cold snow on north-facing terrain. Found a shallow snowpack (<150cm) while climbing up to the ridge that had easier impact weak layers that were still reactive in extended column tests.
By mid-day was experiencing wet gloppy snow on solar aspects near and below treeline.
