Snowpack Observations

Went to play around in a snowpit for the day, we did get this slope to collapse. A variable hard slab that formed prior to this last storm sits just below the new snow from Tuesday which was only 6" where we were near treeline on a NE aspect. Very fragile buried near-surface facets lie just below this hard slab that varies in thickness from 15 - 5 cm.
