Went to nambe today. ~2-4” had fallen in the ski area. Winds were moderate out of the southwest. While traveling through the ski area I noticed graupel mixed in with the new snow between 10500 and 12000 feet on W aspects. The southwest winds were transporting the low density snow that had fallen last night into this morning and had developed 6-10” soft wind slabs at ridge line on a NNE aspect at 12,000 feet. No cracking or whumpfing was observed. I did not test sensitivity of the high alpine wind slabs. Traveling solo, I did not ski into the bowl. W facing sheltered trees held soft snow.
