Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

We went above tree line to see what the previous nights winds had done. Moderate winds were blowing from the east/northeast, an atypical pattern compared to our usual western flows. These winds were only effecting terrain above tree line. Many slopes were scoured. We observed localized pillows of transported snow. Found variable snowpack depths. We continue to find mid-pack weak layers and depth hoar. In deeper areas, hard slabs make up the majority of our snowpack. In areas above tree line, we observed breakable wind crust.

Photo 1: Wind transporting snow southwest above tree line.

Photo 2: Surface hoar below and near tree line, unaffected by wind was widespread.

Photo 3: Wind transported pillows are easy trigger points.
